About Ora & Building Staff:
Ora Manor houses approximately 103 upperclassmen in apartment-style housing that is owned and operated by Seton Hall University’s Housing & Residence Life. Ora Manor is about 2 miles from the South Orange campus. In the heart of South Orange Village, Ora Manor is within walking distance of grocery stores, banks, restaurants, pharmacies, the South Orange Train Station, and the South Orange Performing Arts Center and Clearview Cinemas among others. Parking Services runs a shuttle called SHUFLY which offers transportation to and from campus in addition to all of the above locations and the Livingston Mall.
Lindsey James is the Residence Hall Director of Ora Manor. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from George Mason University and is currently working on a Masters Degree in Strategic Communication at Seton Hall University. Lindsey has worked, professionally, at Seton Hall since June of 2006.
In Ora Manor, she is the supervisor of the Resident Assistant Staff and works with Facilities Engineering to manage the routine maintenance done throughout the building. She also coordinates and helps to develop the programs and events that take place throughout Ora Manor. Lindsey has served on the department’s Recognition Committee, the Housing Services Committee, and the Training and Development Committee.
She is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Association of College and University Housing Officers (MACUHO) and New Jersey Committee of Residence Educators (NJ CORE)
Resident Assistants employed by Housing & Residence Life at Seton Hall University staff the apartment building. Resident Assistants provide Housing and University information and act as a resource and liaison to the residents of Ora Manor. Each month they facilitate floor meetings and programs for the residents to attend. Residents will earn credit towards priority point totals, which will advance them in the Housing Selection Process, by attending these events. Resident Assistants participate in an on-duty rotation and are trained in crisis management and helping skills.
