Welcome to Boland Hall

Boland Hall is actually two structures. South Boland was built in the 1950s. North Boland built in the 1960s.  The buildings are connected and share common facilities such as laundry room, programming space and study lounges.

South Boland Hall residents share a common bathroom on each floor, and are separated into male and female “wings.”  There are plenty of facilities to use, and the housekeeping staff to maintain the cleanliness of the hall bathrooms. The building laundry room and the Pirate’s Cellar are located in South Boland side of the building.

North Boland Hall provides suite style living with two bedrooms sharing an adjoining bathroom with suitemates of the same gender.   North Boland has lounges on every floor and a study lounge on the Ground Floor.  There is a patio on the North Boland side of the building for residents to study or socialize on warm New Jersey days!

Welcome to Boland! Boland is a first year community that is unique and rewarding experience for all members of the Seton Hall community that have the opportunity to experience it. The community is built upon a strong foundation of servant leadership and respect; a community where excitement about the college experience runs high. I know this because this is my 4th year in Boland Hall. As a recent graduate of Seton Hall University and a member of the Boland Hall community I have witnessed and been a part of the Boland Hall experience for over 3 years. Boland Hall provides the right atmosphere for residents to grow and develop into prominent student leaders on campus. Whether it is through participation in programming offered by Resident Assistants or participating in Hall Council, there is always an avenue for students to get involved. Boland Hall is a safe place and a place where students can feel like they can be accepted and still be themselves. Boland is a community that I have come to treasure and I hope that you will enjoy it as much as I have. Welcome!

Welcome to Boland Hall, Class of 2011! I’m one of 3 Residence Coordinators that will be working hard to make your transition to college as stress-free and exciting as possible!  The Boland Hall Staff strives to create a healthy living and learning environment to help you grow and mature in your personal life as well as your academic endeavors.  This will be my fourth year living in a freshman building (2 years as an RA, 1 year as a RC) and I have seen the tremendous impact that a great first year can have on students.  It’s an important year for you and I look forward to being a part of it!

Welcome to the Boland Hall Community! Living in a Residence Hall for the first time will be an experience you cannot anticipate and surely one you will not soon forget. I, myself, am a recent college graduate and when I left for college in August 2000, I never thought I would consider my Residence Hall to be like a second home.  In a few short weeks, however, I found what I hope you all will find here in your first semester: that a home resides wherever you create it.  The Boland Hall Staff is committed towards making your first year experience here as best as possible.  Consider Boland not only a place for you to live, but a place for you to laugh, to learn, and to make memories.  Know that your presence here in this community is very welcomed. We hope you will join us in making Boland a safe, comfortable, and happy place that you can all call "home."

FUN FACTS ABOUT BOLAND HALL

BOLAND HALL COUNCIL

Boland Hall Council is an active hall government.  Boland Hall Council is for the residents, by the residents and of the residents. Six members sit on the executive board in the positions of President, Vice President, PR Chairperson, RSA Representative, Of The Month (OTM) Coordinator and Secretary. The executive board members are residents of the building who have been elected by their peers.  They work together to put on programs, discuss floor or building issues and make Boland Hall a great place to live and learn. The advisor is the Boland Hall Residence Coordinator, and co-advisors consist of Resident Assistant Staff.

Hall Council is a great way for students to get involved in leadership opportunities within their building and connect to campus resources such as the Resident Student Association.  For election 2007-08 information, make sure to check into the student information page under hall council!!

In the past two years, Boland Hall Council has put on over 100 meetings, programs and events.  They have raised over $1000 for various charities including: Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Learning for Life, NJ Community Food Bank and the OCM Grace Church Building Fund in memory of Melenie Hong ‘08.
