Programming at Seton Hall University

Programming continues to be recognized by our resident students as one of the major strengths of the Residence Life program at Seton Hall.

Academic Teaming Assistants (ATAs) plan a variety of programs for resident students. Our Resident Assistants (RAs) are dedicated to the programming they do each month.  From their bulletin boards to their building wide programming, RAs ensure that there is always something to do in the halls.

RAs plan and implement a program, floor meeting and community builder each month.  Faculty members, administrators and guest speakers from off campus get involved with residence hall programming to connect with the students in the residence hall setting.

Floor meetings are designed to share information between housing staff and resident students.  Students should do their best to attend every floor meeting, to be a responsible member of the community.

Community Builders are specific programs for a particular floor/wing community within the building.  These programs aim to bond residents in the community through social interactions such as pizza parties, movie nights, or supporting another program as a group.

Programs that Resident Assistants plan are academic, personal, spiritual or social in nature.  There are also programs that promote diversity and servant leadership. In the COMPASS and UC PASS programming models, the Department of Housing and Residence Life strives to provide programming for the mind, the heart and the spirit.

Weekend Warriors was launched in Fall 2003.  Programs are planned for Friday through Sunday in conjunction with Community Development’s “Weekends At the Hall” programs.  These weekend events occur both on and off campus, and are the highlight of the weekend!  Events this past year included free massages, salsa lessons, Da Dance Off, University Idol, and NYC trips to Broadway shows.  There’s always something to do!
