“MAJOR” CONFUSION:
Click
here for help in choosing an academic major!

Don’t panic…although choosing an academic major is a big decision, there are many resources available to help you. Many students have started their college years as undecided/undeclared and have successfully settled into satisfying majors. The Career Center is here to help you.

First, a career professional will talk with you about career development which is a part of the process towards choosing a major. Next, we’ll tell you about all of the resources that are available to you. We’ll also provide you with steps on how you can get started on this important and fun journey! Finally, we’ll debunk some of the myths surrounding the choice of an academic major.

Choosing an academic major is just one of the many decisions that will be made on the path to increased opportunities. Even though it is an important decision, keep in mind that academic majors are only part of the process that leads to earning a degree. For the most part, an academic major serves the purpose of fulfilling academic requirements rather than career purposes. In fact, the majority of majors will actually help prepare a student for many career possibilities.
