Active planning for life – work or study – after graduation should begin here. Internships and other experiential opportunities continue to be important, for the hands-on experience as well as validation of career interests.

At The Career Center, students now work more intensively with "their" professionals to update and fill out resumes and practice interviewing skills. An internship in a career field of interest between the junior and senior year can be particularly critical for establishing some relevant employment history and contacts for a full-time job search, so students should be using the Center's Navigator/eRecruiting job database and alumni network to identify opportunities and apply for open positions.

Students considering graduate school may need to begin the application process a full year before commencing study, so evaluating various programs' requirements and organizing information and processes should start early. The Career Center offers individual counseling and referrals to sources of profession-specific guidance (e.g., for law and medical schools) and supplies reference materials and timelines for use in research and planning.
