Frequently Asked Questions

The Career Center at Seton Hall University is a comprehensive center, serving undergraduates, graduate students and alumni. An integrated career development plan provides students with tools for self-exploration and success long after they leave Seton Hall.

Q: Are First Year Students welcome at The Career Center?
A: Absolutely! In fact, every University Life class will be visited by career professionals from The Career Center, who will take students through the first steps of our Career Success Plan.

Q: Does Seton Hall have a internship program?
A: Yes. Experience plays an important role in the Career Success Plan. Experiential education programs that enrich the academic experience and develop career and life skills are essential for success in students’ professional and community lives.

Q: What types of employers hire Seton Hall Interns?
A: The Career Center has established partnerships with employers representing all areas of business, social service, non-profit and government.

Q: Who is eligible for internships?
A: A student who has completed 30 credits and maintains an overall GPA of 2.5 or above is eligible for the program. (Transfer students need to have completed at least one semester at SHU.)

Q: Does The Career Center post jobs on bulletin boards?
A: The Career Center does post jobs, but not on bulletin boards. Career Navigator is the official online career management website of The Career Center. Students upload their resumes and apply electronically for positions. They will also be able to access the Pirate Mentoring Program, which will connect them with SHU alumni in a particular career field.

Q: Does participation in experiential education effect future job potential?
A: Absolutely! A recent survey of SHU graduates shows that students that participated in internships were 48% more likely to have been offered a position than students who participated in part-time jobs not sponsored by the University.

Q: How can I get more information?
A: Stop by The Career Center, 2nd Floor, Bayley Hall or call us at
