Committees
Travel and Recreation Committee
The Travel and Recreation Committee helps students participate in the
recreational activities found throughout the surrounding metropolitan
area. For example, this committee might sponsor a trip to a Broadway
show or to a trip to Dave and Busters. Part of the role of this
committee is to help SHU students who do not have cars be able to go off
campus and have fun. If you’re looking for a committee that’s exciting
and different, this is the committee for you.
Coffee House
The Coffee House programs are the most active committee in SAB. There is
a Coffee House every Wednesday in the Pirates Cove and depending on the
week the main attraction could be singers, poets, arts and craft, and
lots more.
Current Issues and Awareness (CIA)
The CIA programs events that touch upon any issues effecting college
students today and that is normally done through a fun approach. This
committee works very closely with the SGA Student Life Committee to stay
aware of issues.
Concert
It's time for a jam session. This group is responsible for bringing in
small and big name musical acts. A few of the past acts include: Third
Eye Blind and this year the All American Rejects. This year, you can
help decide.
Comedy
This group books live, hilarious entertainment showcasing some of
today's leading college based comedians that have been on BET’s Comic
View, Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, and other shows. Prepare to laugh
with the acts this crew brings in.
Special Events
The special events committee was formed to encapsulate all events that
do not fit into the other categories. The Special Events committee has
brought you such happenings as the Winter Ball and Spring Fling. These
events are definitely worthwhile and bring diversity to SAB and
activities on the SHU Campus.
